Welcome to the Glomdal Museum!

The Glomdal Museum is a local museum that presents the cultural history of Østerdalen and Solør.

Our 90 historical buildings and almost 1500 square metres of exhibitions make us one of Norway's largest cultural historical museums.

The museum is situated in beautiful surroundings along the bank of the river Glomma, in central Elverum.
All through the year the museum offers splendid exhibitions and exciting activities. Check out our activity schedule and come pay us a visit!

Opening hours 2011

The museum is open every day during the following hours:

January 1st– June 24th 10 am - 4pm
June 25th– August 14th 10am - 5pm
August 15th– December 31st 10 am - 4pm
Between Christmas eve and New Year's Day 12noon - 4pm

The museum is closed on the following days:
Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter
May 1st
May 17th
Dececmber 23rd, Christmas eve,
Christmas day and Boxing day
New Year's eve and New year's day

The open air museum
is open from May 23rd - September 1st. Guided tours every day at 12am and 2pm. Groups may also book guided tours at other times.

Groups may book tours of the museum throughout the year. Please contact the museum for booking arrangements.

Ticket prices

Special tickets can be purchased for entrance to both the Glomdal Museum and the Norwegian Forestry Museum on the same day. Yearcards for both museums can also be bought.
